Fred,

I've gotten it working under SPARC/Solars using gcc/g++.

There are several places in the code base where a NULL pointer is
accessed or printed, which causes core dumps in Solaris.  Linux doesn't
core dump on that, it either prints "(null)" or accesses garbage.

I'll send out those fixes, if you want.

Does anyone know how to get them incorporated into the base code?
