turn off logging??

I do not want to use the logging API, so I do not specify a logging 
property anywhere. Seems like VXI looks for "TraceOSBLogger", and
if not found, defaults to using "printf" to write messages to stdout.

Do I need to provide a default no-op logger just to get around this? If
the logger is null, the vxi should not log anything ... does anyone know
a better way around this?
